Anthony Russo
Joining me today on Grace and Peace Radio I have a very special guest. This is my first Grace and Peace Radio interviewee. This episode I’m sitting with Mr. Alan Avera.

Anthony Russo
Avera. Okay. All right. Alan is the Executive Director with Christianity Explored US. He and I live here in the Greenville area, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to get together as I’m learning more about Christianity Explored, my church’s looking forward to doing the program, I thought we’d meet and find out more about both the program and also Alan. So Alan, thanks for being with me today. I appreciate it.

Alan Avera
Okay, thank you.

Anthony Russo
So first of all, tell me, what is Christianity explored.

Alan Avera
Christianity Explored is a church equipping ministry in the area of evangelism and discipleship. And we are trying to help local churches be able to equip everyday Christians, that is those that wouldn’t say, “Hey, I’ve got the gift of evangelism, or I’m a church elder, or, or minister or pastor…” but the people who are the everyday Christians, we want to help the church equip those people to be able to love, live, and then tell the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ep011 Hope in Uncertain Times

It seems like in life there is “Nowhere to run…nowhere to hide.”In this episode of GraceandPeaceRadio we’ll talk about where to find hope in uncertain times.

“Nowhere to Run to, Baby”?

You might be old enough to remember a popular song from the 1960s by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. It was called “Nowhere to Run”, and the chorus was Martha belting out how she had “nowhere to run, baby, nowhere to hide.” And she was singing about nowhere to run nowhere to hide from a man who treated her badly, but she still love them.

In another sense, that chorus seems to echo life. All of us want some sense of normalcy. All of us want to feel that we are in control. And sometimes people do some pretty irrational things to try to get the upper hand again, or at least think they’re getting the upper hand. But what can we do biblically, in times of uncertainty, is there really nowhere to run? Nowhere to hide? We’ll talk about it on today’s Grace and Peace Radio.

Ep008 Walking in Love

In this episode we’ll hear a short devotional given to the residents of a local nursing and rehabilitation center out of 2 John 1:5-6 about Walking in Love.

Hello, and welcome once again, everybody to Grace and Peace Radio. I am your host, Anthony Russo. And I’m so glad you’re joining us this week. This week, I’m going to do something different. I’m going to get right to it. This is going to be a little devotional I prepared for and gave at a nursing home this past Sunday, in fact, February 23. It’s a really sweet group of people. Just so you know, they are, I guess you could say… I don’t I don’t honestly know what the right clinical phrase is, they are “low functioning”. I don’t know if that’s appropriate or not, so forgive me.

But anyway, our church goes in every Sunday and gives a church service. And usually we give like a little 15-20 minute devotional kind of thought, and I’m on a rotation. This was my Sunday. So I thought I would share what I gave them with you. So without further ado, out of 2 John 1:5-6, here’s me giving the devotional on “Walking in Love.”
